Keoni is a registered architect with more than 41 years of professional experience in architecture and interior design, creating commercial and residential projects across a wide range of styles, scales, and budgets. His diverse portfolio includes award-winning clubhouses, community centers, sports clubs, wellness centers, restaurants and bars, specialty retail spaces, corporate offices, mixed-use developments, hospitality, industrial, educational, medical, and custom residential projects.
Born and raised in Hawaii, Keoni later moved to Los Angeles, where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University Pomona. He also studied architecture in Florence, Italy through an international academic program, an experience that further shaped his appreciation for timeless design and global architectural influences. Keoni is a Registered Architect in both Hawaii and California.
Deeply involved in community planning and urban design, Keoni served for eight consecutive years as an elected board member of the North Park Community Planning Committee and chaired the North Park Planning Urban Design/Project Review Committee, helping guide thoughtful growth and development within the community.
Throughout his career, Keoni has received recognition for both design excellence and innovation. In 2008, he earned an ASID Award of Excellence for Donna Marsh, a women’s clothing store in La Jolla. In 2009, he received a Green Innovation Award for his office building, which was powered entirely by solar energy and constructed using recycled steel. His work gained national attention in 2014 when The Wall Street Journal featured one of his modern concrete homes designed to resist wildfire conditions.
Keoni’s wellness and residential projects have also been widely recognized in regional and national publications. In 2015, his Wellness Center was featured in Riviera and San Diego Magazine, and in both 2015 and 2018 his homes were included in the U.S. Green Building Council Home Tours. In 2018, one of his residences served as the filming location for the LGBT feature film She Said Yes and was also used in a commercial campaign for the release of the Jeep Rubicon. In 2019, a Rancho Santa Fe residence he designed was featured in San Diego Home & Garden.
