Real estate really is my 'thing'.......even after more than 30 years in the business, I love helping people make their next step. Every transaction is different, and adapting negotiating, marketing, technical, and interpersonal skills brings new challenges every day.
When I work with buyers, my firsts concern is that they know enough about the market to make an educated choice, sometimes introducing new ideas to their search based on my knowledge. The two most important goals I have with buyers is considering the potential investment, even in a simple residential transaction, and making sure they're happy with their home not just for the first three months, but confident in their choice for the long haul.
Obviously, as seller's goal is always to get the best possible value for their property in their timeframe. Again, my experience if a huge benefit for sellers because I bring relationships with other agents, as well as resources I've honed over the years with contractors, suppliers, photographers, stagers, lenders, and the like.
No matter the transaction, communication and negotiation skills are crucial, and I pride myself on continuously working to keep them sharp. I gather a lot of data to have at critical points in a negotiation, and use it to my clients' advantage. I'm direct, thorough, and tough when if I have to be, but I work hard to try to keep negotiations on a positive track. There's no point alienating somebody you have to reach agreement with if it can be avoided.
Personally, I've raised three interesting, successful kids I'm very proud of. I read a lot, on a wide range of subjects, but mostly biography and true crime. I love a good podcast, and I'm an AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego). That means I'm definitely a giant nerd at heart.
